Any better ideas for the weekend than digging up to some authentic Italian pizza goodness?
Just along the highway of barangay Calicanto, you will notice a small but inviting pizza place, Basilio’s and it honestly surprised me having that place here in the “province”.
The first and only time I tried “brick-oven” pizza was at Chez Deo in Balayan and since I knew that it is way better than what we usually get around, I didn’t think twice when chef Jason invited me over!
He decided to turn their front yard into a diner with cute and instagramable landscape and serene ambience. The fun part? You can watch them make your pizza fresh and clean!
What’s So Special About Basilio’s Brick Oven Pizza in San Juan Batangas?
I got served Sam Basilio Pizza, two slices and boom, you’re full! So make sure to bring at least two of your friends! The savory pomodoro sauce, generous amount of meat and veggies plus that signature sweet and smokey taste from the brick oven, makes a big difference to your pizza experience!
Their lasagna is another super full-packed because of the generous amount of ingredients. Chef’s kiss! One serving is good for two.
I can say that for its price and authentic taste, it’s really worth it. Plus with the accessibility of their nice location, you will be missing out a lot in your food experience if you don’t even dare to try Basilio’s.
Take out? It seems that wine is the only thing that’s missing for a perfect chill night!

So if you are coming from Manila, you will surely pass by their place and might wanna consider grabbing pizza before heading out to the beautiful beaches of Laiya ‘cause you know, it will still take you not around twenty minutes.
For advanced orders you may contact their numbers but if you happen to read this while already staying at the resorts of Laiya and Hugom, don’t worry because they can also deliver via Pabili Go (check them on Facebook).
